1. Yes, Anna is required to provide a citation because the views presented are not hers. According to APA conventions, she should also clearly indicate the specific date for each quotation because she had communicated with her cousin on two occasions.

Firstly, it is a fact that Sentosa was known as Pulau Belakang Mati, and you would therefore be able to find a source to verify this. Secondly, this story is not a piece of folklore. Lastly, it can be argued that this is not common knowledge.

2. Option a is a correct example of an in-text citation. The second example is incorrect because APA requires the writer to list only the first author’s name followed by ‘et al.’ in an in-text citation. Additionally, in this example, the writer needs to indicate the page number of the quotation that he or she has inserted.
