Professional Experience, Specialisation & Memberships

Yasmin joined NTU Library in 2022 and currently serves as a Senior Librarian with the Open Science and Research Services team.

Her career in libraries began in 2005 with the National Library Board, where she worked as an Adults and Young People’s Librarian. There, she conceptualised and delivered impactful programmes and content for youths, managed collection development, and facilitated book talks and outreach sessions at Tampines Regional Library and Woodlands Regional Library. She later advanced to become the Eastern Region Service Lead, guiding a team of Service Leads and librarians to uphold consistent service standards across libraries in the region.

In 2015, Yasmin took on the role of Branch Manager, overseeing Toa Payoh Public Library and Serangoon Public Library. A year later, she spearheaded Project OaSIS (Out of a Shell, Into the Shelves), introducing “counterless” services at Toa Payoh Public Library—a pioneering initiative that earned the Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI) Team Award in 2017 and paved the way for similar transformations in other libraries.

After spending four years in Toronto, Canada, Yasmin returned to Singapore and joined the LKCMedicine Medical Library as a Medical Librarian, where she supported researchers, PhD students, and faculty with systematic search services and systematic reviews.

Now, as part of NTU Library, Yasmin continues to bring her experience and passion for innovative library services to advance research support and open research initiatives.
