Akbar is a Senior Assistant Director and Lead for the Academic Engagement Team at NTU Library. He has over 30 years of experience in the field of academic librarianship and was previously Head of the NTU Business Library. He also led the Library's Advisory and Consultation Team prior to his current appointment. Akbar provides coaching, advice and consultation in library faculty engagement work and copyright-related matters. His current work also requires him to focus on impact metrics and analysing how scholarly publishing trends are influencing research dissemination, collaboration and impact assessment within the academic community.
