How long will it take to create an OER?

The amount of time needed to create an OER depends on several factors such as whether
(1) contents are readily available and formatted. For instance, it is relatively easier to convert lecture handouts into an OER compared to lecture powerpoint slides
(2) how authors want content to be presented. For instance, it would take more effort to create a 2-column OER textbook compared to a single column layout.
(3) copyright considerations. If the original content contains copyrighted image, we may have to substitute it with one that has a Creative commons license instead.
