Staff Profile: Wong Oi May

Introduction

Oi May is a Senior Librarian with NTU Library’s Information Services Team. She organizes webinars on emerging trends in research and scholarly publishing and she also works with faculty to enhance the visibility of their NTU Academic Profiles.  Additionally, she provides customized Mandarin library orientation sessions to freshmen students.

Educational Qualifications

- Master of Science (Information Studies), Nanyang Technological University, 2001

- Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English Language, National University of Singapore, 1998

Professional Experience, Specialisation & Memberships

Prior to joining NTU Library’s Information Services Team, Oi May was an instructional librarian with the Digital Scholarship & Education Team and conducted library workshops for SoH and ADM students.  She had also worked as a SoH reference librarian when she was with the Advisory and Consultation Team.

She was previously with the Library’s Circulation Services Division and Access Services Division managing day-to-day operations. She also has experience managing donor materials and overseeing the acquisition of Chinese materials as part of the Resources, Discovery & Access Team.   

She is a member of the Library Association of Singapore and Friends of the Museums (Singapore).

Interests - Ancient civilizations and the history of the overseas Chinese
