I am the Head of the Medical Library at Nanyang Technological University’s Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. My librarianship career spans nearly three decades, beginning with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (Information Management) from Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane. I furthered my studies with a Master’s in Information Studies from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
My professional journey includes roles at Singapore Polytechnic, where I led a Quality Circle team to a National Award for a pioneering library booking system. At the Li Ka Shing Library, Singapore Management University, I contributed to the library's website usability project. My career also took me to King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia, where I led significant projects in Electronic Resources Management and Web Discovery Layer Services.
I have actively participated in various professional organizations, including the ER&L Committee (USA), the International Group of Ex Libris Users, the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), and the Library Association of Singapore.
Before joining NTU, I served as the College Librarian at Yale-NUS College, overseeing library operations, staff, and strategic initiatives. I later transitioned to NUS Libraries following the college’s closure.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies, reading, travelling, and blogging.

Leading the Digital Technologies Unit, I manage teams to meet the evolving information needs and emerging research technologies at NUS. I play a key role in strategic planning and policy formulation to foster innovation, collaboration, and service excellence within NUS Libraries.
College Librarian, Yale-NUS College, Singapore (2020 - 2022)
At Yale-NUS College, I led projects that significantly impacted teaching, learning, and research, including the implementation of the eReserves system and the College Digital Archives. My responsibilities included overseeing library operations, staff, budget, and strategic initiatives, and developing agile services to support the academic community.
Assistant Director, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (2018 – May 2020)
I spearheaded projects to enhance departmental efficiency and academic community experience, such as the implementation of a project management tool (Basecamp) and the Ex Libris Leganto course reserves system. My role focused on advisory and consultation services, supporting the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
E-Resource Lead, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia (2015 – 2018)
At KAUST, I managed key projects, including the migration to the Proquest Summon Webscale Discovery Layer and the implementation of a new electronic resources management system (Proquest 360 Resource Manager). My responsibilities involved overseeing e-resources workflows, virtual reference services, and the library’s discovery layer.
Access and Digital Services Specialist, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia (2009 – 2014)
In this role, I led the creation of an electronic resources management workflow matrix and the adoption of Microsoft SharePoint for improved document management and collaboration.
Reference Librarian, Webmaster, Li Ka Shing Library, Singapore Management University, Singapore (2007 - 2009)
I led the Web Usability Project, conducted usability studies, and implemented digital library initiatives. My responsibilities included providing reference services, conducting library training, and maintaining the library website.

I led a Quality Circle team to a National Award and served as Advisor to the Singapore Polytechnic Malay Language Society. My duties included reference services, library instruction, and coordinating staff training on Blackboard integration.
