Loo Shien is Lead (Acting) of the Resources, Discovery & Access Team. He oversees operations and improvements to the policies, procedures and workflows for acquisition and technical services for NTU Library. These areas include procurement, metadata management, holdings management, access provision, discovery of resources, internal communication, and staff training.

At NTU, Loo Shien was previously a subject librarian for Communication Studies (2012-2018) and liaison librarian for the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information. Before joining NTU, he served as a Public Librarian (2008-2012) with the National Library Board.
He is a Professional Member of Library Association of Singapore.

Building on 10 years of experience with frontend Library services, Loo Shien is now honing his skills and knowledge of backend operations.
Loo Shien's professional interests include collection development, keeping up with publishing trends, and exploring new technologies.
